Windows won't run anymore.

Can't get Windows to open. System freezes like files corrupt.

The company that built my computer is out of business and I cannot get a
recovery disk from them.

Someone suggested I try booting to safe mode. After several tries,
"system32" driver files scrolled then the screen went black with
"Microsoft(R)WindowsXP(R)
(Build2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519:Service Pack 2) at the top.

Nothing happened from there. So, I restarted. Ah ha - The windows loading
screen came on with the dots running across, then solid blue screen with
cursor frozen.

I went to setup again - advanced ambios, pressed F7 (?) to load the best
settings - nothing again but a frozen windows loading screen.

The manufacturer/assembler did not provide you anything in the way of
a recovery disk or procedure when you purchased the computer? If so
then they would have been in violation of their OEM distribution
license from Microsoft.

The following is an excerpt from Microsoft Knowledge Base article
326246 at http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=326246

"If your OEM software company is no longer in business, contact
Microsoft Sales Information at (800) 426-9400 for more information
about alternatives to acquire genuine software. "

Good luck
