windows won't boot without xp cd

Help I cannot get my computer to boot up without having the windows xp
cd in the drive, if it is in the drive it boots up fine after quiting
setup menu on the cd, then it switches to the xp bootup on the hard
drive. any help??

What exactly happens when you boot up your PC *without* a CD in the
drive? How is your BIOS configured? Have you tried either booting into
Safe Mode or choosing Last Known Good Configuration?
