Does anyone know why Windows XP (Media Center Edition) all of a sudden
won't accept my password? I am putting it in correctly, and I am the
only user on the machine. Is there a way to get around this? I can log
in as Administrator but that won't let me get at my files.

A little more detail here, about what you're trying to do, and what error
display you see, would be helpful. Are you logging in locally to the computer,
or trying to access it through a network? Has the password expired maybe? It's
odd that Administrator login doesn't give you access.

Make sure you do not have cap locks on when you try to logon. Try a
different keyboard if you have one as possibly you have a bad/sticky key.
Otherwise someone else that has access to your computer may have changed the
password.

Anyhow since you can logon as administrator go to Control Panel/users -
select your account to manage and change the password to see if you can then
logon which you should be able to after that. NOTE - if you use EFS
encryption to secure your files on your computer having an administrator
reset your password to something else will prevent you from accessing those
encrypted files though if it is changed to the password you last used you
should be able to access them.

If need be an administrator can always gain access to non encrypted files by
taking ownership of the folder and granting himself full control
permissions. If it gets to that point let us know so we can help you with
that.
