Windows Will Not Run

Last night i had no problems, but whenever i tried to turn it on this morning
windows would not boot and it said that the file, ntorskl.exe (or something
similar to that) in the system 32 folder was missing and that i needed to
replace it, well the computer i was using that is having this problem no
longer has the boot-up disc to replace this file or any others and i did my
homework on other sites and found that it could be that its corrupted, a
virus, a thunderstorm (which i had last night) or some other things. Also
when i tried to boot the hard drive it did nothing leading me to believe that
the hard drive disk itself may have been corrupted, anyone have any tips they
can share to help me solve my problem? Or at least pinpoint the problem?

Well i tried that but once i put in the command line it simply said
Not resetting hidden file - C:\boot.ini
and i even searched far and wide for the file yet i could not find it at all.

First step is to attach the drive to another system and copy your data off.
Once that's safe, you can proceed to fix it without panic.

That's because the file is also marked as hidden. Run the attrib command
with the -H (ie, not hidden) first.

HTH
-pk
