Hey,

I've just been reading up on this a wee bit and it requires 128Mb of graphics memory and 15Gb of free hard disk space. I cant believe how much power this operating system is going to need!!

Does anyone know when it is going to be available? Are there beta's out?

P.S. What happened to its initial name, foghorn leghorn or whatever. ;)

Windows Vista Beta is out now, get more info @ www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/
 
I think vista will fail to be honest. It will no doubt be full of drm-style infections to monitor your every move, the system requirements are insane and it will no doubt cost £30,000 per square inch. There is no backward-compatability hardware-wise with Direct X 9 on the interface, meaning that unless you have a next gen card with DX10, you will be unable to run the fancy new graphics. And with the list of features getting smaller and smaller as they are cut due to time constraints, this is looking, to me at least, like a graphical upgrade from xp.

My scribbled thoughts. I may be wrong. Dont eat me.
