I just performed a fresh install on my HP zv6000 CTO Notebook (Athlon64 4000+
w/ 2 GB RAM) to Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

But the OS is so slow, hanging everywhere... I never thought that the 64-bit
version of vista would be SO MUCH slower then Windows XP... Would Vista
Ultimate x86 be faster?

I have a desktop with an AMD 64 4000+ and 2GB RAM, running Vista Ultimate
64, very nicely...faster than XP for sure.
I'd suggest searching for Vista 64 bit video drivers, that may be your
problem.
IHTH,

Do the zv6000 battery drivers work with Vista.
Here is why I ask. I had an older Compaq Laptop built to run on
Windows 98. When I upgraded to XP, the battery drivers failed. HP
seems to be taking the stance that the zv6000 was built for XP and
that they have no obligation (or incentive) to support Vista on it.

Thanks!

Terry
