Not enough information to get focused help. Describing the computer, its
specs, and posting the exact Stop Error would be a good first step. Here
are links that will help you with the details of your next post:

See if re-installing your video drivers helps.

You do understand that SP1 is beta software, right? You do understand
that installing a beta operating system service pack on a production
machine is A Bad Thing, right? OK, with that said - is there any writing
on the "blue screen"? If there isn't, then obviously the video driver
isn't compatible with the *beta* SP1 and you should simply wait until it
comes out for real and Dell has updated drivers for your laptop and
possibly any special instructions you need to do in preparation for SP1.
If you hosed your computer by installing this *beta* service pack,
simply do a clean install of Windows now. Because you were prepared to
do this since you didn't install a *beta* operating system service pack
on a primary machine. Right?

Right?

You *do* understand everyone's NOT a computer whiz, right? You *do*
understand that not everyone understands what 'beta' is, right? You *do*
understand that your post was rather condescending...right? You *do*
understand that talking down to a person like that does NOT fix the
computer, right? You *do* understand WHY people come to these kinds of
newsgroups...right?

These newsgroups do not address SP1 problems there is a specific place for
reporting beta problems.

You've just given the best definition of "condescending" that I've ever
seen...

To install SP1, the person has to look for it, download it and install
it. Several places along the way, there are very clear warnings about
this being a beta, that it should not be installed on a production
machine and that very nasty things can happen.

Anyone who gets to the point of installing SP1 and doesn't understand
what they are getting into deserves, IMNSHO, what they get...

When will SP1 be released?

- I don't know if your notebook can handle any overclocking or anything but
if it was possible and a long shot, you might need to clear the cmos, I've
had a problem like this before.

No...what I gave was *sarcasm*. If you'd read his post again...you'd see it.
