windows vista reinstall

Hi there,

I've got a problem with my PC. My PC crashed and I'm not sure what was the
problem, but now I am trying to restore the system frm Windows Vista Home
Premium DVD. When I give the System Restore cmd, it gives me a mesage,
something like "system is restoring" (sorry, I dont remember very well this
frase), and then it takes too long, about 4 hrs, and in the screen is the
same msg, without any restoring file or..., any other mesage at least. Then I
switch off my PC presing the on/off switch.

If anyone has any idea what I can do to restore my PC, from the DVD, Please
Help.

Obviously whatever was wrong with the machine (and I'm sorry but "crashed"
isn't enough information for me to guess the cause) broke Windows too badly
for a System Restore to work.

Make sure your hardware is good and do a clean install or factory restore,
whichever is appropriate for your situation. You might possibly do Vista's
equivalent of a Repair Install (see links below) but without knowing
exactly what was wrong there isn't any way for me to guess whether that
will work or not.
