I wanted to know how many systems can be connected to netowork on all the
editions of windows vista.
Windows Vista Home Basic -
Windows Vista Home Prem -
Windows Vista Business -
Windows Vista Enterprise -
Windows Vista Ultimate -
I believe you could theoretically connect 254 (or 256 I don't remember)
- or there may be no actual limitation except for the impracticality of
having more than 10-15 machines in a peer-to-peer network. Frankly, for
that anything more than 10 boxen it makes the most sense to move to a
domain-based network with a server.
If what you really wanted to ask was "what are the inbound concurrent
connection limitations", then they are the same for Vista as for XP:
5 for XP Home/Vista Basic/Vista Home Premium
10 for XP Pro/Tablet/MCE/Vista Business/Vista Ultimate
49 for SBS 2000
74 for SBS 2003
Unlimited for full Server O/Ses
Note that the limitation is on *connections* and not *computers*. Each
computer can - and often does - make more than one connection to a "server".
