Windows vista networked with windows xp

Hey I have a question probably millions want it to be answered, I have two
computers one is running windows vista business and the other xp pro. i can
only see and operate files and folders and printers between the two only if i
switch the operating system of my windows vista computer back to its xp os ;
(this computer is running both os windows xp and vista on seperate hard
drives, though with an IE problem IE wont accept add ons on both os, which is
a seperate question i should be asking) is it possible for xp pro and vista
buiness to get along on a network?

i have the same issue with vista and xp home. my xbox 1, it won't connect as
it does not see the network if vista is turned on. when i turn off the vista
pc then i see the xp pc fine from my xbox. i have my box modded so i can
stream media from my pcs. so i browse the network. with both vista on and xp
on i see nothing. with vista off i see the xp pc fine.
 
Sounds like computer browser issue. Any errors in the Event Viewer in the XP or Vista?
