Vista Home Basic can't join a domain, although it can use domain resources the same way that XP Home could. I don't have a link for using Vista Basic in a domain but here's one for XP Home: Windows XP Home Accessing data on a Domain Server - http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/wxphdoms.html It's the same concept for the Vista Home Basic/Premium editions.
