When I try running Windows Media Player in Vista RC2, I get an error.

Has anyone had this problem? How do I repair or reinstall this? I can't
find it in the Add and Remove programs?

What error?

WMP11 is integral to Vista. You would only see it in Add/Remove Programs in
XP. The same with IE7.

Colin,

When I try and run Windows Media Player I get

"Windows Media Player has stopped responding"

This dialog is displayed immediately. How do I repair this?

Thanks,

David

I think you can do it by booting with the dvd and running the system file
checker from the console. I have never had to do this with Vista but Chad
or one of the console guru's probably have.

I am having the same problem, just did a clean install of windows vista RC2,
build 5744 and everytime I open up windows media player it says it has
stopped responding. I find is completely stupid that you cant do an
uninstall, or at least a reinstall of windows media player. This is the sort
of thing that got them into trouble with I.E., appears they havent learned
their lesson. At any rate, how can I fix, or reinstall windows media player.

Is there any info that might help in the Event Viewer?

If you are not familiar with the event viewer, click the Start Orb, click on
Help and Support, and type "event viewer" in the Help Search field. If you
are familiar with it, type "even" in the Start Search box and hit enter to
bring it up.

Wow.. Since you have to actually pay Microsoft to get an apology for the
flaws in WMP 11, shouldn't they pay you for your apology about WMP 11?
