i was trying to configure vista mail to get mail from gmail. I have folowed
the instruction to properly configure my mail client, but when i try to get
them simply i don't get any. Mail connects to the server and says there is
nothing to download, any kind of errors...

Works fine on mine, they reversed a few things, input-wise, in Windows
Mail.

Make sure that you have all of GMail's settings the same way that you
would configure Outlook 2003 with secure ports of 465 and 995, that
you're using server authentication and the correct smtp and pop
addresses, and that you're also reading the help site from
www.gmail.com. That usually works the best.

Also make sure that you use SSL, and to TLS, which is the default setting.

No way, i can't get mail working. I followed the exact steps on the gmail
site, the same for outlook 2003, nothing.... :(
