Windows Vista last release installation

Hi,

Tried to install Vista both from cd at boot and under win 2000 prof sp4 but
a" load drivers" is required to continue the install. Which is this driver?
The installation ask me for a "secondary IDE channel" driver because I want
to install Vista on this "slave" secondary IDE HDD. The partition is NTFS
50GB where I want to install Vista.

I use win 2000 prof. sp4 5.00.2195
MB: Intel D 845 PESV
P4 2660MHz
512MB Ram
1 HDD 80GB Maxtor pata master (win 2k pro on this)
1 HDD 120GB Maxtor pata slave (on this HDD I want to install Vista)

That is a motherboard from 2002?

Nothing for Vista there.

I guess you could try checking what kind of IDE controller
being used in Windows 2000s device manager and then seeing
if you can find those drivers through google / visiting the
originating companys web site.


Does Vista tell you that you need a driver for either partition
or just the secondary ide one?
What is the difference between these, is there any?

Are you using the latest BIOS?
 
My bios is 3/17/03 the latest is 5/15/03 do you think to upgrade resolve the
problem?

As I can see the secondary IDE channel driver is: oem0.inf
What do you mean "what kind of IDE controller"?

The driver that ask is "secondary IDE channel" nothing else
