Forgot to mention, this release is only for the Technical Beta testers and
to the TAP (Technology Adoption >Program).

Its a good job I cannot get it, I haven't finished testing this one yet :-)

According to the Posting it states:

This build contains many bug fixes over Beta 2, and in fact over 30 of the
top 50 complaints in beta 2 are fixed in this release," according to Utakz
Blog.

"The biggest change, however, is most definitely in the UAC (User Account
Control) which has under gone a major design change to keep from intruding
in the user's daily activities. This means you can now successfully delete a
shortcut off of the desktop in 5456.5 without having to worry about having
to say 'Yes' to 3 prompts!"

My speed has been increasing and is now up to 535. Currently I show two and
half hours to completion.

Thats a bit of a silly thing to say.

If you cannot get the new build then you are not a beta tester.
Besides, whats the point of testing an old build. It's a waste of time.

Would be nice if they could fix an update to Beta 2 (RC1)

Click Start, click Accessories, click All Programs, click Run, type
secpol.msc in the Open text box, and then click OK.

If UAC is currently configured to prompt for consent, the Windows Security
dialog box will appear. Click Allow.

From the Local Security Settings console tree, click Local Policies, and
then Security Options.

Scroll down to and double-click User Account Control.

There u can play around with the settings, so it will be configured for your
own satisfaction.

5456 is a Beta 2 build. RC1 is a long way off.

5456 is NOT Beta 2. It's a new build not available to the
public...unfortunately.

Nonsense. Beta 2 is not a build, it is a milestone whose first build
available to testers was 5384.4. There will be hundreds of Beta 2 builds, a
half dozen of which will be released to testers outside of MS, before
Release Candidate 1 is released. There will be a number of RC1 builds
released for testing before either an RC2 or the final is released.

Many builds of Beta 1 were released to testers between the time Beta 1 first
was available and the release of the first Beta 2 build last month.

To a certain degree yes, but its a case of random hit and miss.
A large amount of the things you find will have already been fixed
and you would be wasting your time. It's always advisable to do bug
hunting on the most recent build.

That was already true of 5384 before it released to the public beta. There
were already later builds at MS. There are later builds than 5456 at MS
already. There are builds that go to TAP testers that Techbeta doesn't see
because the build relates to the partner in the TAP.

Please don't tell people that there is no point in continuing to find bugs
and make suggestions just because something might be fixed already. MS has
a good system for tracking builds, bugs, fixes, and such.

I am not complaining. I am glad Microsoft has provided 6384.4 for the
public. I have been enjoying very much.
