I just purchased a new computer loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
and it came with Windows Movie Maker. The Movie Maker program was great and
very easy to use. When I put an audio CD in and tried to drag the audio file
to the approprate place I got an error message saying the file can't be
imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your
computer. The audio file is a .cda file. The same audio file played great in
the Media Player. The Movie Maker is Version 6.0 (Build 6000).

I have looked at the codec plugins on the Microsoft Website and don't know
which one is the correct one for me.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I like the program and don't
want to drop $250.00 on Photodes Pro Show Producer.

Did you try ripping the CD and
import the resulting .wma files?

No I didn't try that. I thought you could just import a music file from an
audio CD. Do you know anything about the codec required to play the file? I
will try your suggestion.

Thanks for the response

The codec may not be an issue if you
rip the CD and import the .wma files
into Movie Maker.
