I have a hauppauge wintv-pvr-150 card and am running vista. I updated
the drivers from the Hauppauge website but still cannot get the card
to pick up any imput in thr rca jacks.

Please Help!

crazy, etc,

This sounds like a tough one. I can't tell from the information provided
whether this is a Vista problem or a WinTV (Hauppauge) problem. A little
more information would be helpful. For example, how is the WinTV card
connected (cable, over-the-air, or whatever)? What is meant by "cannot get
the card to pick up any input in thr rca jacks?" In my mind, input is via
some sort of antenna or cable. Clarification please. Also, are you using
Windows Media Center or the WinTV software? We need more information. You
may want to consider contacting the vendor for support that they may be in a
better position to provide. Just some thoughts, because I don't know what
else to say.

The card is connected to the pci slot on my computer and I have a rca
cable (the red white and yellow cables) connecting my video camera to
the card itself. The card should show the video that I am imputing
from my camera on my computer so I can capture it and convert it to
Dvd (I have been able to do it with my old windows XP Computer). I am
using the WinTV's Wintv2000 software to capture the input but nothing
is showing up. I also tried capturing it with some Roxio software but
again I get no image displayed. This leads me to believe it is a
driver issue but I have updated all drivers from the Hauppauge website
and don't know what else to do or try.

I have a Sony Digtal Camcorder and I just use the USB connection on the
computer and capture with Media Center.
I could never quite get the Hauppage to work for capture under XP or Vista.

(e-mail address removed),

Thanks, the clarification does help.

The first thing you need to know is whether Vista has a problem with the
WinTV PCI card. To check for this information, open Device Manager. In
Device Manager note whether it is displaying some problem with the card, such
as displaying a yellow ! or some other indication, such as showing "Unknown
Device."

Unfold the entry for the card and select Properties. The information
displayed there should indicate that this device is working properly. Any
indication of problems in Device Manager must be resolved to get Vista to
play nice with the card. Follow any advice provided by Device Manager.

If Vista doesn't indicate a problem with the card, then we can assume that
the issue resides somewhere with the WinTV software or settings, etc. When
you consulted with Hauppauge, what did they say? We need to know this. What
did they do to troubleshoot the issue?

If you can't identify the problem any other way, try reviewing the settings
in the WinTV software. Make sure you read, understand, and follow all
instructions. Here is a site that may be helpful:

Let us know what happens.

Have you tried the drivers available at the Hauppauge UK site (CD 3.4a1)?

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/Promotions/vista.html

I live in the US, but these drivers (not available on the US Hauppauge site)
work perfectly in both Media Center and WinTV 2000.

You must first use WinTV to set up the inputs: click MENU button > Suite Manager
Sources tab, select Composite or S-video

I have tried multiple drivers that I have found on the Hauppauge
website (United States along with UK and others) including:
version date
2.048.25037 2/6/07
6.0.6000.16408 1/8/07
2.0.48.2458 9/15/06
2.0.48.24227 8/15/06*
6.0.6000.16386 6/21/06

*Note if I update it automatically or from the first link on the
Hauppauge website It updates me with the 8/15/06 driver

None of them seem to work. This makes me wonder if it is actually the
application that is not updated to work for vista or If I am using the
wrong version. I am using WinTv-2000. I have also not contacted
Hauppauge yet with my problem because they are closed this weekend but
I plan to call them tuesday. Any information about WinTv-2000 working
with vista or any updates I need would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up calling tech support and after installing a variety of
different things and troubleshooting with the guy I was able to get it
to work and am all set to go.

Thanks for your help.
