I post this question here since there is no Vista group yet.

Vista is in Beta2. It requires Direct X 9, and 128 of video memory.

How can I determine what my machine actually has?

It doesn't "require" DirectX9.. It requires a video card that is DirectX9
compat...

How new is your computer?
What does "Belarc Advisor" tell you about your hardware?

Also - some advice..
If you don't know these things already and don't know how to determine
them - you probably should not be running a beta operating system from
Microsoft.

Also - there are several VISTA newsgroups.

There are several Vista newsgroups. If your server doesn't carry them, check
on Microsoft's server, msnews.microsoft.com.

I also have a question about Windows Vista Beta 2. I have noticed that
TechNet Plus will receive Beta 2 in the July shipment. I also noticed that
on the same web site, it states that:

"Windows Vista Beta 2 and Windows Server “Longhorn†Beta 2 are available to
developers and IT professionals with MSDN and TechNet Plus subscriptions."

I don't feel this is a true statement because the fact that TechNet Plus can
not download or order a dvd of the software and It will not be available
until our July shipment. Care to tell me how that statement is true?

"In the coming weeks, Microsoft will start the Windows Vista Customer
Preview Program (CPP) for developers and IT professionals who are not a part
of one of those programs to obtain Windows Vista Beta 2 and begin their own
testing."

By reading this, it sounds like the general public of developers and IT
professionals will receive the beta 2 of Vista before the TechNet Plus will
get their shipment in July. How fair is this?

BTW, nice looking web site.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Thanks to all. I found the groups under a MS group not carried by my server.
