When Installing Vista on a laptop for the boss to sample what is coming soon,
everything starts ok, boots from cd etc but when it has installed all files
and goes to the first reboot, the system is failing to boot and just goes
back to rebooting again. There appears to be a momentary blue screen flash
but far too fast too see what it may say. The disc is ok as it has installed
on other machines ok. If left itjust constantly reboots revervting back to
the "windows was shutdown wrong screen" giving timed option as to how to
restart. None of the options, safe mode etc, work. Anyone come across
anything similiar

1. boot back to previous os,
2. change folder options to make hidden folders visible before the search.
3. search all partitions (may not be visible! * -> diskmgmt.msc -> assign
drive letter) for .log files. The interesting log files are 4 to 30 MB in
size, sometimes at vista partitions windows\inf directory if the setup went
that far. Submit these logs to microsoft using Beta Client.

*If there was no vista partition in diskmgmt.msc* then the log files are
most likely in the same drive your previous OS was installed (if it had
space for the setup files). There should be a hidden, weird named folder, in
root of the volume and the logs are somewhere under there (search).
