Windows upgrade feature out of IE not working

I am unable to get updates through IE. I actually got an
error message 0X800A138F at one point. Usually IE just
locks and I need to end application. I went to the MS web
site and was able to download SP4 which seems to have been
installed properly.

I know I did have a virus which from running Norton over
the web has been removed. I still can not get Norton 2004
to install from CD. I get an internal error
2753SAVScon.exe3333244E_F73A407A_B74A569A9E09D583.

Any clues what I should do?

Hi Linda,

I had that problem with the update crashing out as soon as I hit the "scan
for updates" button, Today I decided to do something about it, So I tried it
once more just to get the fault codes and damn me if it didn't work ok

leaving me feeling that the fault was at the source end and not my end

When it first happened I went to the knowledge base and there was a write up
on the prob, I tried all of there suggestions to no avail

now suddenly it's working OK
