Pete hayward

is there a way off getting the updates so i can save them
to disk as i format my pc about every 3/4 months and
placing these on disk would save the pain off updating
for 2 hours before i can do anything else with my pc.

Hi Pete,

It's a good idea to store the updates (installer) locally. Here are your options:

Order the Windows Security Update CD:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/cd/order.asp
*This CD includes Microsoft critical updates released through October 2003. For the updates released later, can be downloaded from the Catalog.

How to download Windows updates and drivers from the Windows Update Catalog:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;323166

Update Rollup 1 for Windows XP Is Available
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=826939

How to Install Multiple Windows Updates or Hotfixes with Only One Reboot:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=296861
