You should post your query in the update newsgroup. From what I've read
Microsoft changed the interface permanently, so you're SOL.

Yeah, it seems the Vista Windows update is the way it is now. I'm not
sure how it is less useful. Its different, but not worse, or less useful
or anything like that.

You can't...

not less 'useful' either and the 'easy' part is up to you.
It's just a new interface, that's all, supposed to make it better.
With a little tolerance and sense for the new you are going to like it.

Well the previous interface, you could double-click on an update and find
out what it was updatong/patching, but now there is nothing, even if you
double-click on it there is nothing happening

If I wanted something new and useless I would of gotten Windows 7, I want
Vista's interface to remain the way it was, it was way better before, now it
tells me that there is some optional updates, but I can not see them so I
can not decide whether I need/want them or not

Also as I wrote in another reply, I can not gat any information what the
update does, there are so update that I do not need because they cause more
trouble than they fix, but I can not find that out anymore

Is there something awry with your 'interface' as the information about
available updates is now shown without having to right-click and select
'details'/double click and in a clearer way together with the usual
selection boxes for each. Just click on the ' . . . updates are
available' message and then on each update, or are you not seeing those.

I just did a Windows Update (Vista Home Premium 64 Bit).
A bunch of Important Updates were reported as available.
Choosing View available updates listed them.
Double-clicking one of them brought up Details.
Right-Clicking gave a little Choice List - View/Hide etc.
What are you complaining about?

Every time you post a problem, it's usually stupid. Then you go right into
attack mode when you're questioned. You should've posted this in the
"UPDATE" newsgroup and let those people have you for lunch. All you have to
do is click on "VIEW UPDATES" and you can get all the information your
pea-sized brain can handle. Try a remedial reading class before your next
boot up.

Tom, it's called lazy ignorance. This puppy posts every couple months, I
guess, to see his name in lights. He's a minor troll. I think he's STAN's
brother.

Hell, I lost track of them.

Over the summer this drone was spreading his ignorance in a couple MS
newsgroups. I originally thought it was STAN, <I forget which nic he was
using then>, but this guy actually creates readable posts, and his clock is
right. Could still be his brother, though.

These people take up our time and effort and we would be better off to
ignore them completely, as most of the participants here do already.

Mostly I do, but it goes against my nature. :-)

The only thing that it shows are the update name, but no information, even
if I double-click I do not get any information, it even tells me that there
is a few "optional" update on the main screen, but when I view the name of
the updates, I do not see any of the optional, only the "obligated" update

Can you post a screen shot of this somewhere? It seems to me that we aren't
going to get any further without actually seeing what you are seeing...

I have no other way to do it
