I am running a Small Business Server with around 10 pc's
on XP, none of the individual pc's will atuomaticlly
update unless they are logged on as administator, is there
a way so they will update while normal power users are
logged on? or is there a minimum permission to recieve
updates?
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks

Unfortunately (in your case), only users with administrator rights can use
Windows Update. You could go around to each PC and use the "Run As..."
feature to access Windows Update with administrator credentials, but what a
pain. I know that you can update each of the PCs from the server but, never
having run a server myself, I am blissfully unaware of the procedure.

If someone else doesn't post the procedure to serve updates, try asking your
question in one of the server newsgroups.

I know that if you have a SUS server (Software Update
Services) running, that you can download the updates
while a power user is logged on. There is information on
that on microsoft.com. Other than that I am not sure.
