Hello,

I have my Automatic Updates set to download automatically. I installed the
latest updates and rebooted. However the little blue globe icon keeps
appearing in the system tray with the same update. How do I clear the cache
for Automatic Updates?

Thanks,
Scallica

Try to run it again. Possibly everything was not able to be installed at one time or
there was a problem of some sort with one or more of the updates. --- Steve

Hi Steve,

I've already installed this patch 4 times. Its the Windows Media Player
Script Commands Patch KB828026. The blue globe keeps appearing!!!

Thanks.

Hmm. See the link below for troubleshooting update tips and there is also a
Microsoft.public.windowsupdate newsgroup where you may want to post. I would try to
use add/remove programs to remove that patch if it shows up there and try to run
Windows Update again, but this time in Safe Mode. --- Steve

Safe Mode is invoked by pressing F8 during the boot process before Windows is loaded,
just tap the F8 key every second or so and a menu will come up and you will want to
select safe mode with networking. --- Steve
