Windows Updates for XP

I had to re-format my hard disk & re-install XP recently.

Now MS tells me there are 20-30 Security (& some critical) updates
that I need to install.

I will install the critical updates, but is it really necessary to
install every security update that MS sends out?

You should install ALL Critical Updates.
Install the Recommended Updates that you determine apply to you.
Get the drivers directly from the hardware manufacturers.
