Windows Update

I am running Windows xp...and i have never had a problem
using Windows Update. Well all of a sudden now when I go
to update..it reads my computer, gives me the list of
updates. I click on "add" to add them all on the
list...then i go to install and i hit "accept" and it
just says "preparing to download" and it just stays like
that forever. i've left it on for over 3 hours one time
and it never moved from there...what could be causing
this as i need to update my computer ASAP

Try Windows Update Troubleshooter
