Last night I installed an update to the XP system. This
morning my PC begins the install process then
automatically shuts down and begins the reboot process
again. I cannot get into safe mode at all. Purchased PC
with XP on it and I don't have the setup disks. Downloaded
the floppy setup. Will this help?? Any suggestions? It
appears to me that I have a driver installed that XP
doesn't like...how do I go about determining this driver???

Reboot into SAFE MODE (F8).

Open XP's System Restore program and select a Restore Point that
was created prior to your problem becoming known.

[Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore]

Thanks Nicholas...tried the F8 button and it doesn't seem
to want to kick in...when exactly does the F8 button work??

When your computer is just beginning to boot up, you'll
see a message to hit F8 to enter into Windows Advanced Options.
If your keyboard has a "F Lock" key, hit it first, then hit F8.
