Hi Ben - Try the following:
1. Close ALL instances of IE and/or OE.
2. In control panel, open Internet Options
3. On the General Tab, click Delete Files and also check and OK "Delete all
offline content"
4. On the Advanced Tab, UNcheck "Enable third party browser extensions
(requires restart)". OK out.
5. If you are using a HOSTS file for ad blocking, disable it or rename it to
something other than HOSTS.
6. Reboot, and then Reboot again.
Now try Windows Update (NOT Microsoft Update) again. (If it now works,
you'll need to determine if you've a bad addy in your HOSTS file, or whether
one of your Browser Helper Objects [BHOs], if any, is causing the problem.)
Please post back with your results.
