windows update

Hi,

I am trying to download service pack 1 and I keep getting
the message:

The file c:\windows\system32/drivers\atapi.sys is open or
in use by another application. Please close all programs
and click continue.

What is wrong, where is the conflict and what is causing
it.

Any help will be much appreciated.
