I keep getting "Cannot find server - the page can not be
displayed" when trying to access the site from every
where. Also I get the same problem when trying to access
my bank site. Any ideas???

Yo Bob,

I'm getting the same problem too. I starting getting the
page error a few days ago. I thought perhaps the site was
down, however I can access the site from our server
serving as a proxy. I can also access the site from my
home computer, connected directly to my cable modem. The
computers I CANNOT connect from are all behind my office's
proxy server, I am not running any firewall appliance or
software, only the windows proxy server software.

I'm thinking Mircosoft has changed something to refuse
connections from computers on non-routable IP addresses.
Anyways, I'm still trying to figure it out. The more
people post this problem I'm sure an answer will appear.

Let's keep hunting

Hi Bob, you either do not have high enough encryption,
must be 128 bit. Also, you may have your security
settings set too high. First check the version of ie you
are using, must be ie 6 sp1. Go to help, about and check
the version and encryption level, if it is lower than 6,
and sp1, download it. If it is already ie6sp1, then go to
tools, internet options, security, internet, custom and
drop it to medium low, then go to privacy and change the
setting to acceopt all cookies, then go to the advanced
tab and scroll down and ensure you have use SSL2.0 and use
SSL 3.0 checked. Apply the changes, reboot and try
again. If this fails, try to run a repair on IE6. Go to
add/remove programs, highlight ie6 and hit remove, it
cannot be uninstalled this way, but it will give you an
option to repair.
