According to WU, the above update was installed successfully. But it
does not show up in my list of updates (in Add/Remove Programs).

The update did, however, leave a folder with an enu.log file. There is
no indication that the update failed, as far as I know.

Anyone have information about this? The MS info about this update this
update (in the knowledge base)is too confusing for me to understand.

PS

Further notes: I do not get repeated calls by WU to install this.
Also, I tried following earlier suggestions: namely, using msmxl.msi to
remove the update. When I clicked on this program, however, there was no
option to remove. I then downloaded msxml4-kb927978-enu.exe and
installed "successfully." Still, the update does NOT show up anywhere on
my computer.

Should I continue to worry about this issue, or just think "screw MS for
offering such a botched update" and go about my business?

Hi Richard,

That particular update does *not* show up under the XP updates like the rest
of them do.Look in the rest of the list where "M" should belong, assuming
you have the programs arranged by name.

Curt

Curt,

Many thanks for clarifying the issue. What a surprise to see the file there.
