windows update problem

hello,

A friend of mine has a hewlett packard computer for about a month now. He is
an absolute beginner. didn't know to do download windows update he had a
total of 60 updates for xp from the windows update site. When I try to
download any of these updates it will start downloading but while it is
downloading the hourglass always appears during the download and we can't
get any updates because of this hourglass appearing all the time. I'm
stumped. Anyone tell me whats this means? its preventing any updates to be
downloaded...Any suggestions?

How many are you trying to download at a time? Just do three or four.
Check here for further Info.
