I am not very familiar with the operations of the
computer. When we go on the internet, the computer shuts
down on us after a while. I was told that I may have
a "Blaster Worm". They said it was a problem with the xp
program. I was told to do the windows update. I ran the
download but my computer shut down before I could get to
the installation. Do I need to start over again on the
download, or is there a way that I can find what was
downloaded and install it?

I would suggest running a good virus detector before running any other
program. Get a CD version from the vendor and don't delay.
