Windows Update not Working

Hi, All!

I would like to seek your help regarding my Windows XP...

I've noticed that whenever I'm loading any web applications with Java
scripts, my PC disables the part where the javascripts needs to be
activated.

Also, I've tried to update my Windows Xp by using the Windows Update
Website, and all it shows is a blank white screen.

I couldn't even access the microsoft's support website as well as my help
and support program in the start menu.

Please help!

do you hava java installed ?
Test it at:
http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.jsp

What happens if you add *.microsoft.com to you trusted sites (Internet
Options/Security/Trusted Sites - Sites. You must uncheck the check box at
the bottom - Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this
zone) and than try the Windows Update site again ?

Didn't quite understand what did you mean by:

Do you get an error ? Nothing happens ? Did you try safe mode ?
