I have a Studio laptop with Windows Vista 32 bit installed that has recently
failed on every attempt for Windows Update. Just does not respond. Any help
would be appreciated.

Have you upgraded to SP2? Some updates will fail if you haven't.

Which is the update failing to install?

What message do you get when you try?

Evidently the SP2 install failed sometime back as well. Thought it installed
but never checked to make sure. Sure enough it is only showing SP1

I am trying to install it again and see what happens.

I was successful with a manual update to SP2. The auto-update program is
still non responsive though. Unable to check for updates. Cannot update MSN
Messenger either.
