When I access the Window Update site and I try to scan my
computer for updates I receive an error message "Windows
Update has encountered an error and cannot disply the
requested page". Prior to reciving this message I
downloaded and installed the latest Critital Updates and
my computer was fine then I downloaded the latest Driver
Updates and when I went back to the Window Update site to
scan to see if anymore updates were needed that is when I
could no longer scan my computer to check for updates.
Any help I could receive would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you, Elizabeth

Listen I got the same message. I had downloaded the latest
drivers myself also a SP (service pack) as well as Direct
X9 driver. Can you recall what drivers and/or critical
updates you downloaded. check your history on windows
update and get back to me. Depending on if we downloaded
similar drivers or critical updates we can isolate if it is
the drivers or critical updates that might have caused this
problem. If we can't get help from the tech boys at
microsoft, then we need to do some digging ourselves.

.
I downloaded the following updates:
1. Root certificates updates
2. MS .NET Framework Ver. 1.1
3. Recommended update for Windows 2000 (822831)
4. Security update for MS Windows (KB824105)
5. DirectX 9.0b End-User Runtime
6. Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 express install for end-
users

I think the problem most likely lies in the DirectX
update, please let me know if you figure out how to
resolve our problem and I will do them same should I get
lucky and fix it. Thank you! Elizabeth
