When attempting to access Windows Update on workstation
running 2000 Server, I get a 'Windows Update Error' screen
with an opportunity to send an error report referencing
error 0x800A0007. Can any MS staff please respond?

Thanks

This is what you can try:

1. Locate a working Windows 2000 Server and copy the following files to the
C:\Winnt\System32\ folder:

Msxml3.dll
Msxml3a.dll
Msxml3r.dll

2. Reboot.

3. Try Windows update again......if it still does the same thing, proceed
on to the next steps.

4. Go to C:\Winnt\System32 and verify that you have the following files:

--msxml.dll
--msxmlr.dll
--msxml3.dll
--msxml3a.dll
--msxml3r.dll

If not, take them from another 2000 server (or parallel installation.)

5. Register the following DLLs:

Start>Run>CMD <enter>
regsvr32 msxml.dll <enter>
regsvr32 msxmlr.dll <enter>

6. Reboot

Hope this helps.
