windows update downloads but won't install

I have just installed Windows 2000 Professional on my PC
and I am have problems with the Windows Update. It seems
like everything is working fine (scans for updates,
downloads files) but then the files won't install. Any
suggestions as to why this is occuring????
 
Hi, I seem to have the same problem as you do. I haven't
found a solution yet, but I let you know when I do.

I am having the same problem. I try to install the
updates. I turn off my norton Antivirus and click
install. It seems to download and install and then I get
a message that the updates failed to install. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
