Windows Update doesn't work!

Hello!

I cant't update my Windows XP Home edition! The windows
update programme closes itself when trying to search for
updates! Internet Explorer 6 closes itself too when I try
to open any Microsoft site! (I'm now browsing with
Mozilla.) I have no firewall installed, no download
manager, no popup blocker! Please help!!

Hary,

Did you make any system changes immediately previous to this becoming
a problem?

Did you try to reinstall IE?

If neither of those questions help, check for spyware. Run Spybot S&D
and HijackThis. All the instructions are in this article:
