I was forced to remove Norton System Works after NAV became corrupted.

Since then several problems have occured:

-add/memove software function- shows blank screen

-set program access and defaults- shows blenk screen

-windows update does not function

-ms knowledge base look-up does not function

These problems are all probably related, but have been unable to fix.

Any help would be appreciated.

Get a little program called RegCleaner off the net. Run
this and delete any entries referring to Norton. After a
reboot see if that fixes anything.

Fabio,

Thanks for the help. Reloading VB Script solved the Win2000 system
proplem. Still need to resolve problem with Norton.

Is Windows Update still broken? What happens when you try to use it? Please
post any errors you get, as well as any errors in these log files:

C:\WINDOWS\Windows Update.log

C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate\V4\iuhist.xml

NOTE: Your computer may have these logs in different locations. For
example, Windows might be installed to D:\WINNT, so the first log would be
located there.

If you have trouble finding those, try this: click Start and Run, type (or
paste from this message) the following and press Enter, once for each log
(note the space between Windows and Update in the first):

%windir%\Windows Update.log

%programfiles%\WindowsUpdate\V4\iuhist.xml
