Hi

A new update for MGE UPS SYSTEMS battery has appeared
under the Driver Update section of Microsoft Windows
Update. I do have a UPS (called No Break here in Brazil)
but it is not connected through a serial port so how can
it know it is there.

Without thinking I ran this update and when the install
started my mouse and pc froze.

After rebooting I discovered that the Windows Update site
is recognising my "Clone brand" serial mouse as a UPS.
When I start the pc now the mouse is frozen. In the
hardware properties "PLUG AND PLAY SCROLLING MOUSE"
appears under the Batteries section.. After removing this
and redecting hardware all is ok but I don't want to have
to do this everytime I start the computer.

Any ideas??

Thanks

I would seriously recommend a USB mouse.
Would be curious to know if you are sticking to this serial mouse for a
specific reason.
