I have downloaded the latest W10 version update from Microsoft.
Is anybody else having problems with there computer?
I cannot launch Edge or Firefox it is just a white screen.
I can open task manager and it tells me they are not responding.
I can end the task but then Task Manager will not close!
I have ran sfc /scannow and it finds no probs.
I can access settings and it tells me on the top right that updates are in progress!
It took ages to download and instal the last updates.
My download speed is circa 9 Mbps.
Can somebody tell me what i can do to resolve the problem?
I have had to use another laptop to post this as i cannot access the Internet.

My first install of Windows 10 took almost 7hours including all updates

Other updates after again depending on size can take a long time.

I suggest trying to be patient as frustrating as it is. If still not sorted after a few hours look at
other alternatives then :)

Cancel update and download them separately onto a separate drive then install one by one maybe?

As one example. It will take longer however less resources are taken from your machine at the same time.
I'm assuming your machine is able to run W10 and you meet minimum specs. Even a lack of memory will cause a massive bottle neck due the O/S having to use a constant swap file.

Yes my computer can run w10 and has done up until this update.
It is only since this update i have a problem.

I downloaded that update with no problems at all. And it didn't take more than a few minutes.

You could try System Restore via Control Panel which might take you back to a time before the download.

Thanks Nivrip. Will try system restore. If i can access it!

Thanks to all for the replies to my post.
It seems the IT Fairy must have visited during the night.
After about 10 minutes of trying to boot up, eventually, everything seems to be ok.
Hope it lasts.
Thanks again.
