When task manager shows xx number of processes, but if most of them shows 00 (cpu usage), does that mean I have all xx process running? I asked this because I will disable some process from startup to reduce my process count, but if all those xx number of process only runs when the program is started then, I wouldn’t bother to disable.

Thanks

00 means the process is not using CPU at that time. But I seriopusly wouldn't go around deleting process with 00 CPU usage unless you actually know what they are and what they are doing and when they are doing it. Just because it is showing 00 usage when you looked at task manager, doesn't mean to say that in 10 minutes it might be showing 50 % cpu usage...Research each process before you delete them as one process could be tied into many diffent things..And could render something unopperable...

it ain't broke, no need to fix it

Ignore Windows processes in services, only "play" with processes in windows task manager that have you name to them.

Let Windows manage everything else, really, you will not do any better ... if you wanna improve performance, get a better CPU/more ram/get another superduperscooper

Thanks for the reply guys. Well I wasn't going to delete everything without knowing it but it always bother me that i have like 50 process listed and all of them cpu usage is 00 at point in time unless I run the program then some started to add up.

anyway guys, before I or you guys go have fun for a weekend just one last question :) When cpu usage in task manager says 00 that means the process is not running at that point in time, but when you look at memory usage for same process.

Fore example:explorer.exe cpu: 00, Mem Usage: 21060K

Does this mean above process is taking up that much memory, or it means that when that process fires up they use that much process?

Have a great one guys

don't let it bother you ... go play a game

I don't give a rats ass to my 55 services listed, I don't work for Microsoft so I ain't too bothered what their software does, does my PC play the game I want to play. ;)

Go put the kettle on, mine is a strong coffee, white no sugar ... one every hour please, save me leaving my game unattended. :D

Bottom line Mr C is, you are "concerned" over nothing. :thumb:

Muck i didn't realize that this part of the form is deticated to your game. It is not ur 55 rat ass process, it is mine ass 55 process that I am concern with.

I came here to ask a question because my pc is slowing down and as i was going through the system, i got confused. Well if you are not going to give a rat ass about anything beside game why don't you answer gaming question for other posting or drink ur fking cofee and wait till someone ask you a gaming question.

You just showed me how uk form works.
Now when u are loosing in your game would you be kind enough to tell me how to cancel the account on this firm so i never come back here again

oh dear, I seemed to have pulled your stings in the wrong direction ... sorry.

If you had bothered to tell us the right problem to start with, maybe I'd have been more helpful ... look elsewhere for slowdown "problems" other than windows services.

Afraid we cannot "delete" your account here, very few forums can, TTFN

have a nice day
