Pls help me.
Today my XP decided not to run.

compaq support suggested me to do a full restore, but
that means to format C:disk and lose all my non backed-up
datas.

does anybody know a better solution. ?

I would be very appreciative to receive any Input.

Almost certain not possible on a Compaq system because they don't
provide an actuall installation CD for Windows XP - just a "System
Recovery" option which is a disk image of the factory fresh install
that wipes out everything on the hard drive.
