How can I get the Windows Vista screen back up when windows first appears?

I recommend you choose a password, but you don't have to.
Go to start/.../run, and type :
control userpasswords2
Check the "Users must enter a name and password..." option, and OK, to
follow the wizard.
This will log you on without asking for the password when you restart.

Do you mean the log-on screen? Select Lock or Log out from the Start Menu
shut-down options, or just hit Winkey+L.
