Help. My PC was running slow, so I started doing some clean up. I have Norton
Utilities installed, so I used the PC Optimizer...thought I was very careful
w the registry...guess not. After that, I can get my system to start, and it
brings me to my login page (I have profiles for all members of my house. I'm
the administrator). When you log in, it immediately logs you out and says
"save settings". I have been trying for 3 days to fix this. With Norton, the
backup is not working. I can't even get windows to recognize there are backup
sectors. I've tried booting from the cd. Nothing seems to work.

Almost desperate to call Dell.

OS: Windows XP Professional

| I'm pretty sure I've done that. That's one of the options in safe mode,

Hi Lisa/Bev,

The following option might help both of you. Follow the article if you can
logo to one of the mode like safemode or safemode with Networking.

System restore is an option.

Thanks & Regards
