I'm getting a Windows Solution message indicating that I need to d/l and
install XPlay 3.1.1. Can't figure out why I'm getting this message.
AFAIK, I've never had Xplay on this computer. Have never owned an ipod
and afaik, one has never been attached to this computer. My *only*
thought is maybe it has something to do with having updated Quicktime
last week. In so doing it installed itunes, which I immediately
uninstalled as I've no need for itunes. I wouldn't think it likely, but
it's my only thought and the only recent change to my computer. Any
ideas? Should I be installing this xplay that Windows Solutions keeps
telling me to do??

TIA

As i have out of touch from Vista as i m testing Windows7 now a days so may
be you can have to do a little search but i think its right so try.
Click start and type wercon.exe and hit enter (if nothing comes goto
c:\windows\system32 and search wercon.exe and run it)
Under Tasks, choose "Change settings". Then open "Advanced settings".
you can turn off Problem Reporting here and enable it back. Hope it works.

Personally, I avoid installing Quicktime as I don't like the crap it dumps
on my machine.

As you're past that decision, I would suggest you run MSCONFIG and shut off
any QT automatic startups.

If you're lucky, that will solve your problem. If you're not lucky, I'm of
no further use to you.

Good luck
