When my pc is on for a few hours, or when a play-ed a
game or running heavy software (photoshop or what so
ever) my system is getting slow.
When i checked SVCHOST.exe is using between 40 and 60%
procent of my cpu, i can temperalie disable this service,
by i loose my cd (mp3) audio(winamp, mediaplayer), system
sounds are still active.
Problem als is gone when i reboot my pc, but offcourse
this aint a sollution.

system setup:
Gigabyte ga-7vrxp, 512 ddr, amd 1800xp, Leadtek GF2PRO/GTS
Windows XP sp1 PRO(all update's included), NAV2003pro, MS
office 2002.

.
At a command prompt type tasklist /svc then match up the
PID of the SVCHOST that is using most of the CPU%.

Hi,

I am also experiencing this problem as are others
(Courtney, Dick Shrewsbury, Marie, Allen, ogi, Pat Nolan,
Bill W, Dan, Keith)

Dick, Allen, and I all get temporarily cured by a restart
of the computer. You, too. This seems to be a common
condition.

We also have the CPU in the 90% range when it is slow and
nothing is open/running.

Look for posts with subjects of
Slow computer
High CPU usage

I feel like its a new, undocumented virus thingy :(
