Windows shuts down when copying text into Word

Hi,

My problem: When I attempt to copy and paste the text of email I've sent
into a Word file, the screen shows me the hourglass (wait) symbol for about a
minute, and then Windows shuts down--and the text does not get copied.

Possible clue: This is occurring on a new computer, which has Norton
Internet Security, and I use AT&T Yahoo DSL which may have its own security
features, too.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated,
Michael

Norton often causes problems, and a number of users have reported problems
pasting from Yahoo as well, but also see “Word 2003 unexpectedly quits, and
you receive an error message when you paste text that is from a Web page to
a Word 2003 document†at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=890258

When pasting, try using Edit | Paste Special | Paste as: Unformatted text.

garfield-n-odie [MVP]: Thanks a lot for your response. I tried the Edit,
Paste Special, and Paste as: Unformatted text, and it worked instantly.
You've saved me a lot of frustration.

And thank you to Chuck Davis and to Suzanne Barnhill, too, for your
responses. As the "special paste" option works well, I haven't needed to try
other solutions. But thanks again for your efforts, and your suggestions may
well have worked had I tried them.

Best,
Michael
