Hi,

I am having trouble shutting the computer down, everytime
I want to shut the PC down it tries but seems to hang
where it says "saving settings" and just stops there.
Therefore I then have to switch it off rather than it
switching itself off

Anyone have similar problems or know how to fix this?

Right click my computer. device manager and make sure ACPI is not disabled.
If that's disabled you could try right clicking my computer -> properties ->
advanced tab . Then where it says startup and recovery hit the settings.
Under system faliure bit make sure automatically restart isn't ticked to
then hit ok. You could check the power options by making it go into
hibernate or standby try tweaking them to. I used the top one which worked
for me when i first installed xp :¬). Hope that helps
